Shapely triangulate polygon
Webb17 jan. 2024 · I'm already using the Shapely library for Python, but it looks like that can't quite get the job done on its own. My ideal function would look something like this: polygon = circle_around_point( latitude=29.9500, longitude=-90.0667, radius_in_meters=1000, num_points=20 ) Webb22 feb. 2024 · 2 Answers Sorted by: 43 You can select all the faces and go to Face > Triangulate Faces in the 3D View header (or just press Ctrl + T for the same effect) while in Edit Mode.

The usual approach would be to split your simple polygon into monotone polygon using trapezoid decomposition and then triangulate the monotone polygons. The first part can be achieved with a sweep line algorithm. And speed-ups are possible with the right data-structure (e.g. doubly connected edge list).
WebbNote that shapely is clever enough to close the polygon on your behalf, i.e. you don't necessarily have to pass-in the first point again at the end. Share. Improve this answer.
