Webb14 juli 2024 · We report a high-finesse bow-tie cavity designed for atomic physics experiments with Rydberg atom arrays. The cavity has a finesse of 51,000 and a waist of 7.1 μm at the cesium D2 line (852 nm). With these parameters, the cavity is expected to induce strong coupling between a single atom and a single photon, corresponding to a … Webb20 mars 2024 · QED is a relativistic theory in that Albert Einstein’s theory of special relativity is built into each of its equations. Because the behaviour of atoms and molecules is primarily electromagnetic in nature, all of …
Webb9 maj 2005 · ABSTRACT Recent experimental advances in the field of cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) have opened new possibilities for control of atom‐photon interactions. A laser with “one and the same atom” demonstrates the theory of laser operation pressed to its conceptual limit. Webbfurther considering the atomic motion, we show that the inhibited damping can lead to a favorable scaling of the optomechanical parameters of an atom-array membrane placed within a cavity. The developed formalism lays the basis for further investigation of many-body QED with atom arrays in transversely confined geometries.
Webb28 aug. 2006 · We report on large scale ab initio calculation for the 4s 2 1 S 0 –4s4p 1,3 P 0,1,2 transitions in the zinc-like sequence, using the multiconfiguration Dirac–Fock (MCDF) method. Our attention is focused on the spin-forbidden transition 4s 2 1 S 0 –4s4p 3 P 1 and the hyperfine-induced (HPF) transition 4s 2 1 S 0 –4s4p 3 P 0 for ions between Z = … WebbThis paper reviews techniques for improving the temporal contrast and spatial beam quality in an ultra-intense laser system that is based on chirped-pulse amplification (CPA). We describe the design, performance, and characterization of our laser system, which has the potential for achieving a peak power of 600 TW. We also describe applications of the …
Webb8 mars 2024 · In Cavity QED—The Molecular Dimer Case we study systems that contain nuclear, electronic, and photonic degrees of freedom explicitly. First, we consider a model dimer molecule that contains two nuclei and two electrons confined to one dimension and is placed in an optical high-Q cavity.
WebbTrapping a single atom in the cavity. As an atom enters the cavity mode, it tunes the cavity out of resonance with the probe beam. This causes a drop in transmission, which is detected and triggers an increase in the dipole trap depth. The atom is now trapped in the cavity. Its position changes the resonance frequency of the cavity and ... how much is uhaul rentalWebbis to our knowledge the rst attempt at implementing the emerging coupled-cavities QED paradigm.
